CLIENT: Degenkolb Engineers
INDUSTRY: Structural & seismic engineering
SCOPE: Digital brand guide, UX/UI design, content, data visualization
PLATFORM: Large-scale marketing website
Focus: Clarity, scalability, and credibility
Degenkolb’s website needed to support a wide range of audiences while communicating highly technical information at scale. The existing experience lacked cohesion and made it difficult to navigate complex content clearly across a large, growing site.
The work focused on creating a flexible digital system rather than isolated pages. Brand guidelines, UX structure, and content strategy were developed in parallel to ensure consistency across the site while allowing different teams and service areas to communicate clearly within a shared framework. This positions you as a systems thinker.
Prioritized modular layouts to support future content growthSimplified navigation to reduce friction across a large page countApplied motion selectively to enhance storytelling without distracting from clarity
The resulting website provides a clearer structure, stronger visual cohesion, and a more intuitive path through complex information. The system supports Degenkolb’s credibility as an engineering leader while remaining flexible enough to evolve with the organization. No metrics needed. This is perfect as-is.

Shout out to JJ Jenkins for trusting me to spearhead this project, Laurie Lumish at Degenkolb for her clarity and quick decision making, to Morgan Micha for her consistent support, and Sean Massa for being a stellar developer.
Developed a comprehensive digital UI style guide defining typography, color systems, iconography, spacing, and component behavior. The system established a consistent, scalable visual language that could be applied reliably across a large, evolving website.
Led the UX/UI redesign of a 60+ page website, restructuring content architecture, navigation, and page hierarchy. The work focused on improving clarity and flow while making complex information easier to explore and understand.
Developed clear, structured content that supports usability and reinforces brand credibility. Copy was written to guide users through complex material while communicating Degenkolb’s expertise and values with precision.
Directed animation and motion concepts used to support storytelling and highlight key ideas. Motion design was applied selectively to enhance engagement without distracting from clarity or function.
Designed data visualizations including workflow diagrams and sustainability metrics, translating complex information into clear, accessible visuals that support transparency and decision-making.
